The simple rooms were a welcome change from modern hotels, and the location is incredible. The service is what really stood out, though. Our family was stranded at a train stop in the middle of a rainy night, and they came to pick us up. They didn't have to, and they were so kind and warm about it. I'd give them more stars if I could.

There were plenty of lounge areas to sit with coffee or tea after a long day, and the staff were polite, friendly and welcoming. I visited two weeks ago as part of a tour and found the rooms spotlessly clean and comfortable, with views from every window. Breakfast and dinner were great, with lots of options. I hope to come back someday.

For quiet and beautiful scenery, this is a place to go. The Zipline station is right behind the hotel, and the trail around the waterfall is breathtaking. There's no electric door card or fob, TV, hair dryer, or much else. That simplicity takes you back in time and lets you really enjoy being detached from the world.

Our family of five stayed for a night last month, and the weather was perfect. The food was excellent and plentiful. Sitting on the porch with morning coffee, hearing only the waterfall in the distance, was so relaxing.

A peaceful, welcoming stop between hallingskeid and flåm, with a nice terrace and a burger to enjoy while travelling. Lots of bikes around, and it's right at the train station.
