The views around Aurland were the best part of our two-day stay. The rest was a letdown, especially the service. The receptionist working from 31 March to 1st of April was often away from the desk and came across as rude. When I finally found her to buy shower tokens, she said “later,” then “in one hour” when I asked what she meant, in a dismissive tone. There were also practical problems in the cabins and bathrooms. One cabin's heating didn't work properly, one shower only had cold water despite costing 1€ per use, and several soap dispensers were empty. There are other places nearby with similar views that I'd recommend booking instead. The facilities and service need a lot of improvement.

The view was lovely, like many places in Norway, but the stay wasn't worth the price. The cabin hadn't been cleaned properly: there were bread crumbs on the mattress and wine stains on the blanket. Towels and bed linen also cost extra, and the shared bathrooms were old and unpleasant.

You really need a car to make the location work. The rooms were amazing, though, especially with the heat set to 35c while it was below zero outside :)

We could sit quietly and enjoy the view, and that alone made it 100% worth it. The location is wonderful, with the best view of the fjord. The cabins are big enough for four, though there aren't many kitchen tools. That was okay for a few days. The bathrooms were clean, and we never had to wait. The staff were nice and considerate, too. One bunk bed was facing the wrong way, but they fixed it within a few minutes.
