Riddergaarden Hotel & Mountain Lodge, Beitostølen

The location was ideal for skiing, with the lift right by the entrance, and the sauna and spa were fantastic. I also enjoyed the restaurant: the staff were professional, the Italian food was excellent, and there was a good choice of quality drinks. I travel a lot for work and have stayed in plenty of hotels. This one really stood out. The staff were exceptionally kind, polite, and helpful, always focused on supporting guests without adding stress. You can feel that guests come first, and that their rights are respected. The rooms were extremely clean, the beds very comfortable, and everything needed for a stay of several days was there. My room had a fully equipped kitchen and a large bathroom with a great shower. I think it deserves five stars, and I'd absolutely stay again.

We never stayed at the hotel, but visited the spa twice during a week of skiing. The slopes are right beside it, and we could see them from the hot tub. We loved both visits. It was just the thing for easing sore joints and any minor chafing from the week. The service was great from reception onward, and there's even a bar.

The rooms were spacious, modern, and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen and utensils, which was a lovely surprise. There are shops nearby too, which is very convenient. The hotel was very quiet, and we suspected it might be empty, so we had the spa and breakfast buffet to ourselves. My boyfriend and I had a great stay. Special thanks to Thea (Tea?), the receptionist who welcomed us. She made a wonderful first impression and went out of her way to help right up to the end of her shift. Such kindness, she deserves recognition. We'd happily recommend the place.

The room was nice and the bed comfortable, and the staff were friendly and efficient. But the value for money just isn't there. Parking at 200kr a day feels like daylight robbery, and at this price it should be included or at least subsidized. Restaurant prices are also a rip-off, especially 325kr for a child's portion of lasagne. Breakfast had a decent range of cold items, but the hot food was disappointing. Fried eggs, potatoes, and bacon were all a bit dry. The pool area was nice but nothing special, and 600kr for a family to use it for a couple of hours wouldn't be worth it. Luckily, it was included in our rate.
