Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Bergen

I had already paid the full room cost through Booking before arriving, but after the stay I found an extra, unauthorized €210 charge on my bank account. It was clearly their mistake, and I contacted the hotel on February 2nd. They said the refund would be processed within 14 days, but that time passed with no money returned, and they ignored my follow-up emails. I ended up calling repeatedly for a week and a half before I finally got the refund on March 3rd. Having to chase them for over a week to recover money taken by their error was unacceptable. The stress, wasted time, and lack of communication made this extremely frustrating. A professional hotel should handle this promptly, transparently, and respectfully. I strongly discourage anyone from staying here, especially given the billing practices and poor customer service.

The rooms were very clean and had nice Scandinavian-quality furniture, though they were a little small. Staff were friendly and helpful with sightseeing information, getting around, and arranging taxis. Breakfast was especially good, even better than the usual Radisson, and the location and service were top-notch. I’d recommend it for a short visit to Bergen.

A comfortable, clean place that offers great value, with a great location and no fuss. We considered the Opus, but after going there for drinks, we both felt it was nice yet not worth the extra cost. The staff here were all wonderful and very helpful. We’d absolutely stay again.

We were glad to meet the Fenerbahçe football players during our one-night stay at Radisson Blu Royal. The room also had a box of chocolate confectionery waiting for us, which we really appreciated. Steffan, the friendly receptionist, welcomed us professionally, and the security staff were warm and made us feel safe and well looked after. The atmosphere was great, and we had a very enjoyable visit. We’d happily return.
