Vesterålen Apartment

We spent a week in January at Vesterålen Apartments, and felt looked after from the moment we arrived. Henrik was warm and attentive throughout. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, and the apartment by the fjord was cosy and well furnished. From the sofa, we could watch cormorants, eagles and seagulls, and even see the Northern Lights. With nature all around and little light pollution, the setting was peaceful and great for viewing them. Breakfast arrived at the time we chose, so mornings could start slowly. Henrik also cooked local dinners based on family recipes, and the food was really good. The kitchen is suitable for self-catering as well. Ian led and accompanied the planned outings, including a northern lights hunt, sea eagle safari, snowshoe hike and sightseeing. He knows a lot about the area's wildlife, history and landscape, and we learned plenty. He also speaks German :-D. His enthusiasm for nature and his work added a lot to the tours and our stay. We'd happily recommend Vesterålen Apartments and the team, and hope to come back soon.

We had a very nice week and were incredibly lucky to see so much aurora, or northern light. The Eagle Safari, sightseeing and photo course were all part of it. We didn't spot any moose, but we're not complaining.

We only had 3 days here and wished we could've stayed longer. It's a lovely quiet place in beautiful surroundings, and the house was perfect, with lots of activities possible. The RIB eagle safari was unforgettable. We'd definitely consider coming back.

Henrick welcomed us so warmly and made the stay memorable. He installed the iconic Birdbox Norway and even gave us champagne 🥂. The views were stunning, the weather was perfect, and Ian's Sea Eagle tour was a real thrill. Check out the photos we posted, this place feels like pure magic! 🦅
