The breakfast is the best I’ve had at a hotel in the last three years, with a generous range of all the usual choices. The machine’s option simply labelled “coffee” was quite weak, though, and could have been stronger. This is the newer of the two Scandic hotels in Bodø. The spacious, well-kept rooms include some with panoramic sea views, and the staff are friendly. At reception there are basic snacks and toiletries available 24/7. The welcome starts as soon as you enter, with a live bio-fireplace, an inviting reception area, and free shuffleboard. There’s a balcony at the top-floor restaurant if you’re brave enough to step outside with your drink. Just try not to freeze. It’s a fantastic hotel, and I’d happily stay again.
