Wood Hotel Bodø

On 24 Jan 2026, someone urinated on the stairs on the 4th floor. We reported it to reception, and they replied, "That's a shame, but at least the cleanup crew will be here in an hour." As far as we could tell, nobody tried to find out who had done it. Half an hour later it was still on the stairs, soaking into the wood, and two hours later, as I'm writing this, there are still sticky spots there. It's disgusting and unsanitary. Dinner portions were also so small they seemed meant for people with eating disorders. I ended up eating at McDonald's afterward. The rooms are nice but nothing special, and the TV kind of sucks. The location is amazing and the spa was nice, but after seeing how they handled sanitation, I feel really dirty having used it. Someone else in our group also told me they had to fix their own clogged drain. I'd love to come back, but I'll have to avoid it next time. The nice aesthetics feel purely performative.

A clean, well-maintained hotel with free parking and breakfast included. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of options and made-to-order specialty coffee. The swimming pool costs extra to use.

We had an amazing three-night stay after flying in from Oslo. The breakfast choices were the best I've tried so far, even compared with similar hotels in Switzerland. The first night, though, strong wind came through the window and made so much noise that we couldn't sleep. That's harder for the hotel to control. I'd recommend putting phones in the rooms for service. Thanks for a great stay!

I paid extra for two nights here and came away really disappointed. The dining room on the 7th floor made constant noise that carried across several floors. Even after I changed rooms, it kept me awake past midnight and woke me again at 6 am, so be wary if you're sensitive to noise. The pool was closed without warning, and the wellness area was a mess. I had to call to get the hot water refilled, used cups and towels were scattered around, and the gym was dirty with equipment all over the place. The staff on-site were lovely, breakfast was great, and the view and setting were truly beautiful. But for what I paid, I expected it to feel luxurious, and the major sleep disruption was a deal-breaker.
