The quiet setting among the trees makes this a lovely road-trip stop, and the nearby gas station has EV charging, a shop and a cafe that stay open even on public holidays. I’d especially recommend it for a longer stay. The cottages date from 1969 and still have that old-fashioned feel, but they’re in great shape, very clean and everything works. Each has its own room with a pull-out sofa and TV, plus a kitchen with a stove and plenty of dishes and appliances, and bunk beds, so up to four people can stay. I also found the history of the place really interesting. I’m sure the current management would make Arne Haugerud proud.

These cabins have a real 70s-80s feel, right down to the little details in the kitchen, bathroom and living room. They’re clean, nicely kept and full of vintage charm. Highly recommended!

Our cabin was peaceful and had everything we needed. The river was right beside it, with lovely views.

The breakfast starts at 06:00 and was very good: freshly made bacon and eggs, coffee, tea, and white or wholemeal bread with sweet and savoury options. For the fairly low price, we thought the stay was very good, though the interiors are quite retro and basic, and some fruit at breakfast would have been nice. The place is open 24/7, and even though we arrived at 23:30, booking was quick. It was clean, with hot water and a kitchen equipped with a fridge, pot and basic utensils. Our bunk beds were in the kitchen, where the fridge made occasional noise. It wasn’t ideal, but not too bad. There was another double bed in a separate living room with a small TV, and we slept well. Thanks!
