Trolltun Hotel

Both of my stays at Trolltun were really good, first in September 2024 and again in June 2025. It’s calm and cozy, with good food and breakfast. The ladies who run the place are friendly and nice.

There’s plenty of nature close by for hiking, trails, and mountain biking, plus a very small ski resort. The place itself is cozy, with renovated rooms from 2024, and it’s nice and quiet. Service was very friendly 👍😎

We’ve stayed here several times, and it’s our usual place whenever we’re in the area. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and the surroundings are gorgeous. It feels homey, and I’d happily recommend staying here for the night. Five out of five stars from me any day! :)

The room cost 1300nok for one night. My bedroom was clean, and my son liked the bed and slept from 10:30pm until 9am 😍. I didn’t find it comfortable, though, because the mattress felt very thin. The bedding was old too. My son spilled his drink, so I removed the quilt cover and saw that the quilt looked old and discoloured. The bathroom was dirty, and I felt unsafe stepping onto the balcony by the dining area because the wooden planks felt very soft. There were some nice things as well. The lady at reception on Sunday evening was absolutely lovely and very helpful. She let me take my food to the room when my six-year-old son wanted to go to bed. The burger was soggy, though, even though I appreciated the kind gesture. The apple cake was delicious, and lactose-free milk was available. There’s a good climbing-park-style play area outside where my son could run around before dinner, and there’s a table tennis table downstairs. The interior is warm and has interesting old furniture pieces. It was lovely and quiet at night, and WiFi was available. I couldn’t get coffee in the morning. The dining area stays locked until 7:30am, and a sign says you can walk around the building and enter through reception to use the coffee machine. As a single parent with my small child asleep in the bed, I didn’t want to leave him alone in the room. There were no coffee amenities in the bedroom.
