It’s a lovely, cosy spot surrounded by the beautiful Dovrefjell park, with wooden furniture and carvings giving it a magical atmosphere. We enjoyed the Norwegian food, grilled meat, sausages and fish, and you can try local musk-ox too. The portions are good and the prices fair. It’s right beside the main road and along the pilgrim’s way. We’ll come back whenever we can!

We stayed for five nights, and it was a great base for hikes and other outings. The rooms are spacious, very clean and modern, with private entrances and everything we needed. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and breakfast was generous and delicious. Many thanks to the owners for such a good stay. Just to clarify for people passing through, this is a restaurant and hotel, not a rest stop.

Dinner by the river was a highlight, especially when we spotted musk oxen on the hillside. After a day hiking, breakfast hit the spot, and we had a mountain view from our room. The buildings have traditional grass roofs, and our bathroom had recently been redone. Such a delightful stay, highly recommended.

I’ve stayed here twice and plan to come again in 2026. The setting between Trondheim and historical Dombas is wonderfully wild and scenic. You might not spot a muskox out in the wild, but the muskox burger is something else, and you get a close-up taste.

We pulled in for a light lunch during a motorcycle trip and were glad we did. The food was tasty and inexpensive, and the views across the river and mountains were spectacular. It’s a quaint, beautiful spot high in the mountains just off the E6, with several buildings topped by traditional grass roofs.
