The only downside was having to share the toilets and showers, although they were kept very clean and neat. Everything else made for a really comfortable stop. We slept so well in our small room, which was tidy and clean, with towels, a washbasin, strong heating, good light, wooden walls and floors, and lovely window views. The staff were warm, friendly, and helpful, and the location near a camping park had mountains and a nearby shore with great views. I booked for a night's rest on a long trip from Bergen through other towns, ahead of visiting Vøringfossen waterfalls. Breakfast had plenty to choose from. I didn't want bacon with my eggs, and the chef made me two eggs separately without me even asking. We ate well and left more than satisfied. I'd recommend this place to anyone going to Eidfjord.

My sister and I loved this place on our Norway road trip. The rooms were cosy and beautifully decorated, and the staff were fun. Breakfast was delicious, and the chef was generous, kind, and friendly. His pancakes were especially good. If you want somewhere unique and off the beaten path, this is it. It deserves five stars!

We had a big, clean room with a private bathroom, and the guesthouse had plenty of charm. Breakfast was great, with hot food, good pancakes, and fillings. The staff were nice, too. The location was fabulous. Our one snag was not having a jug or coffee in the room. We get up early and had to wait until 8am for breakfast to get one.

After a 70km hiking Tour through days of rain, I stopped here and was glad a room for two was available. The service was friendly even at 8pm. The rooms have been modernized but still feel rustic in a charming way. We used the shared bathroom since we hadn't booked one with a bath, and it was clean too. Breakfast was very good, no complaints.

We came to try the famous panncakes, but couldn't get the kind we wanted, so we ordered another type instead. We got four, and they were thick but still underdone, with a doughy taste. The staff seemed as if they were there because they had to be, maybe for free rooms or something, and didn't seem enthusiastic. It was expensive and a bad experience. There's a “for sale” sign, and I guess that says it all. We didn't rent a room.
