Eidfjord Hytter

We stayed in the cabin, which was basic but had what we needed, and the heater worked. The location and surroundings were magical, with fresh air, stunning views, and a waterfall close enough to hear. Breakfast was very fair. We slept in our own sleeping bags because we didn't have extra sheets for the provided duvets, which came without covers, and didn't use the duvets. I'd recommend it if you're looking to stay around Eidfjord.

The owner was so kind and handled everything, from reception to the kitchen. Breakfast was delicious, and the shared bathroom and toilet were super clean. I don't often book a room with a shared bathroom, but it didn't feel much different from having private ones. We loved our stay, and the room looked incredible. It was such an interesting hotel to stay in.

The price felt seriously too high for what we got. It was 1100 plus 300 for an additional person, for the family room with private toilet. The extra bed was just a very soft foam mattress that let me feel the floor, and they handed us the sheets. We also missed basic things like a fridge, boiler, TV, and glasses or cups. There were a couple of nice touches, including the spacious toilet and the decorations. Dinner choices were limited, portions tiny, and it was expensive, 190 kr for a small fish and 3 potatoes. Breakfast had few options too, just bread and spreads with cheese and ham. My expectations were high, but at that price they seemed justified.

The house and huts are cosy, and the scenery is nice. But bedsheets cost NOK 90 per person, the fuse kept dropping every 30 minutes, and the Wifi didn't work.
