The restaurant was lively, and the staff made dinner fun. Thanks to the chefs for the delicious food. The hotel surroundings were beautiful, though it was too cold to sit outside with a mug of coffee. Our train from Oslo was delayed, so we arrived later in the evening. The staff welcomed us and showed us to our rooms, then we went to the dinner we’d planned ahead. The room was neat and simple, but small, with two tiny beds. The curtains didn’t cover the windows at all, which made changing clothes awkward on the ground floor. Still, it was a good stay.

The staff were really welcoming, and the location was good, though in Flåm everything is near the station and fjord ferry. The Ægir BreweryPub was closed for refurbishment, but it looked like it would be a lovely spot once it reopened. The room felt tired and hadn’t been cleaned well. The bed was made with two single sheets that left part of the bare mattress exposed, which didn’t feel hygienic. Breakfast was a basic buffet, and the machine only made black coffee. I’d skip it and get proper barista coffee at Flåm bakery. For such a beautiful setting, the place was overpriced and average, poor Travellodge at best.

Simple, clean, and decent value, with enough space. The restaurant is good too, though it fills up, so book a table. Breakfast is usually part of the rate. The location is especially handy: once you arrive in Flam, the hotel is just a few steps away. The fjord cruise port is just as close.

We had a wonderful stay in November. The views were fantastic, the room and bathroom were a good size, and everything felt cozy. Breakfast was fabulous, and the pub next door was stunning, with lovely craft beers and delicious, creative food.

The wooden lodge style and beautiful views made our stay memorable, and we were lucky to get an upgrade. Service was impeccable, and breakfast was amazing. It’s a real plus that the hotel connects directly to the excellent Ægir Brewery. Flåmsbrygga Hotel is in a quiet valley, right by the train station and fjord cruise departure point.
