I can’t comment on the hotel itself because I haven’t stayed there. But the food at spiseri, for 250,- for kyllingsnadder, was the worst food experience of my life. The plate was mostly raw onion cut into pieces the size of elephant ears, with cold precooked chicken drowned in TORO bearnaise sauce and a side salad that was half rotten. The quality absolutely didn’t match the price. Big wow. If you want to sell something resembling food, please hire a chef.

The hotel is in a good, quiet spot in Gol, and the room has a balcony to sit on. Breakfast was O.K.

The rooms are perfectly fine, with nothing to complain about, and the staff gave good service. Breakfast could have been several notches better. After a long drive, it would also be nice to have an instant coffee option so you can relax a bit.

The staff I spoke with at Solstad were very nice. My first-floor room seemed pleasant at first, but the bathroom had lots of brown stains under the sink. Cold water leaked from the sink when I turned it on, and the toilet paper holder was so close to the toilet that I scraped my thigh using it. My colleague had a much bigger room upstairs with a loft and none of the same problems, so maybe I just got unlucky.

We’ve been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and have also had the buffet on May 17th. The food is good and comes to the table in a reasonable time. Toilets are clean and the staff are nice. A nice place.
