Our room was quiet, comfortable, clean, and nicely equipped, and both dinner and the included breakfast were excellent. Everyone on staff was friendly and skilled. This family-run lodge has been in the family for five generations, and the whole place felt spacious, elegant, and professionally run. We spent one night here in August 2025 on our Norway trip, and it was probably our favorite stop during three weeks there. A restful, pleasant stay.

On the way back to Oslo, we stayed at this stylish hotel near Geiranger and a scenic drive. It has a century of history, yet still feels fresh and well cared for. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was nice too. They have their own snow resort, so I’d love to return in winter.

We got stranded here in a snowstorm, and we’re so grateful this was where we ended up. The hotel is beautifully designed and has a lot of history to discover. The staff from Poland and Ukraine made the stay especially memorable, they were welcoming and kind, and taught us so much about the hotel’s past. Thank you for such a great experience. We’ll definitely recommend it.

The rooms are a bit dated, and the walls are thin, though I liked having a second door between the entry area and the room since it kept a lot of noise out. Dinner and breakfast are served at the restaurant next door. Dinner was decent, and breakfast was standard. Overall, a pretty decent stay.

The food was a real highlight, both breakfast and dinner were top notch. The rooms are clean and charming, with recently renovated bathrooms adding some modern comfort. This museum-like hotel sits among peaceful natural views, and the history comes through in every corner. By the fireplace there are cozy spots to read, chat, or just relax. Each wall seems to whisper stories from the past.
