Thon Hotel Victoria Hamar

Getting here was easy, since the hotel is under a five-minute walk from the station. The staff were welcoming, and the conference rooms worked well for our meetings. My room was spacious, with a comfortable bed. The food let the stay down. The fried eggs at breakfast were rubbery, the scrambled eggs had no taste, and I couldn't finish the bland chicken pasta at lunch. There was also a stale smell in the bathroom when I first walked in. Running the shower for a while cleared it, but it made a bad first impression. It's a convenient, comfortable place, though the catering needs work.

Good spot in central Hamar, close to the train station. Nice views of Norwegian nature. Parking may be available on the side street during certain paid hours. The room size was fine, with a spacious bed, and breakfast was good 🙂

The building and rooms felt shabby and odd, like they bought the place next door and tacked it onto the hotel. It's above a nightclub, too. The rooms are small and dated, and both the mattress and pillows were far too soft. I'd avoid it.

Wish we'd checked the reviews before booking. There were bits of food on the dirty floors, and when we asked for them to be vacuumed, they brought us a dirty bowl for our dog. We were meant to have a sea view and a double bed, by the way.
