Home Hotel Astoria

The room was comfortable and the beds were nice, and the bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water. There’s air conditioning, but you can only adjust it at reception, not in the room. We hit a hot spell and the hotel got boiling, though I don’t think other hotels here had AC either. Rooms facing the main street could be noisy until around midnight. The staff were lovely, patient with all our tourist questions, spoke English, and were always available to help with a smile. Breakfast and dinner were free and much better than I expected. Breakfast had eggs, bacon, fruit, crepes (they called them waffles), cereal, and oatmeal. They also put out cake in the afternoon, and there was a nice selection of good coffee and tea in the lobby around the clock.

The hotel is centrally located, and the dinner buffet is included. The lobby has a nice bar, and the staff were great, very friendly.

The bathroom was fantastic, even though the room itself was small. Breakfast was great, but the supper was a bit disappointing. The hotel provided two meals during my stay, and the evening one was almost all vegetarian. That would’ve suited me perfectly if I were vegan.

It’s an okay, standard hotel, with nothing particularly fancy. Breakfast was okay too, but nothing special.
