A sea view really brings out the best in this hotel. Without one, there isn’t much extra to set it apart from the other options. The location is nice, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Like many hotels in Norway, it feels a bit old, though it’s clean and well maintained. The bathroom is somewhat small, and the rooms could use renovation.

Hammerfest, or Hámmárfeasta, is often described as the northernmost city in the world. It’s a town and city, as well as the administrative centre of Hammerfest Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. On the northwestern coast of Kvaløya, it lies just north of Rypefjord and southwest of Forsøl. The town covers 3.02 square kilometres, or 750 acres. Its 2023 population was 7,882, with a density of 2,610 people per square kilometre, or 6,800 per square mile.

The breakfast was great, with espresso drinks and an amazing view. The beds were comfortable, the temperature was perfect, and the lighting felt cozy. The room itself was nice, but the cleaning wasn’t up to standard, especially in the bathroom. There was also a high-pitched noise all night. Luckily, I’d brought earplugs.

“Scandic” means harassment to me. You can’t be near any Scandic hotel without getting harassed. Norway has the most unpleasant hotels in the world.

It’s only a few minutes’ walk to sentrum. A room looking out over Hammerfest bay gives you a great view, too.
