Radisson Hotel Haugesund

The woman working in the bar and restaurant on the evening of 28. January deserves recognition. She was handling four jobs on her own without a break, yet stayed smiling and professional the whole time. Your hard work did not go unnoticed!

The hotel has only been open fairly recently. The room was a decent size, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was hot and powerful. There's a kettle, though a pod coffee machine such as Nespresso would be a nice addition. A fridge would also help for drinks or medication. It's a little way out of town, but there's a small supermarket in the same building. The restaurant could use more vegetarian options.

I got in at 11pm, after every restaurant in the city had closed, and the hotel staff immediately made me a beautiful, huge tapas board. They seated me by the window with a view over the fjord and took my bags. The service couldn't have been more helpful.

The breakfast was poor in my view, and some of it didn't seem fresh. The cheese, for example, had dried out, though the coffee was good. I stayed four nights and there was no cleaning at all, so I had to ask for fresh towels. Water from the shower ran across the whole bathroom, and there was no tool to clear it away, so I used a towel. There was also nothing to warm wet towels. The key-card lock was a nice feature, but I wish someone had explained that you have to lock it from outside. It's easy to walk away thinking the door locked when you closed it.
