The sea-side setting is unique, and a great spot for morning coffee. I had room 309, with views in two directions. The food was good, and everyone praised the fish soup. Breakfast bread was 100%. The service was friendly and attentive.

The island has a long history, from the Viking age and the herring boom to the more recent salmon farming. We also ate really well, with homemade food that included local ingredients like salmon from the nearby sea farm. The hotel itself is small, and the atmosphere was amazing. I loved sitting on the boardwalk with my morning coffee, watching locals take their boats through the strait to fish or head to the local store. It felt like a real break from city life. The 25-minute boat ride from Haugesund is well worth it.
