The service was the real highlight. Bad weather left me stuck in another place, and the staff let me check out a little later and packed breakfast for me at no charge since the bus got me in late. I stayed here in March 2025, and the hotel was fantastic: stylish and clean, with a stunning, comfortable room and a great location. It’s a small town, so where you stay doesn’t matter all that much. I hope to come back in summer, and I’d absolutely stay here again.

Breakfast was fresh and varied, and sitting with a fjord view made it a treat. The staff were friendly and quick to offer tips on places to visit or eat. Bryggehotell is right by the water, with beautiful harbor and mountain views, and its clean, modern, cozy rooms capture the feel of the Lofoten Islands. It’s a comfortable place with a distinctive atmosphere and an incredible location. My top choice in Henningsvær, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting this part of Norway.

The breakfast was the only real plus for me. There weren’t many options, but it had the things I like, including fish liver oil, and the breakfast staff were friendly. Otherwise, this was the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in Norway. I booked after seeing all the positive ratings and was looking forward to the visit, so I honestly don’t understand the high reviews. I recommend avoiding Villa Bryggekanten if possible. It’s overpriced and unclean, the rooms are tiny, and there isn’t a proper ocean view. The room was badly laid out and even smaller than compact hotels like Moxy. The bed sits right in the way as you come in, and there’s so little space that the bathroom door only opens in one direction. The so-called queen bed felt more like a twin and was very small and uncomfortable. I’d booked an “ocean view” room for two nights, but all I could see were houses across the water, with no open view or mountains. For $550, it wasn’t worth it. Cleanliness was unacceptable. I stepped on glass in the room and cut my foot, which made me wonder how thoroughly it had been cleaned. When I asked the front desk for slippers, they said they’d get some from their sister hotel next door, but never brought them. All I got was “sorry to hear that.” The bathroom light kept flickering, and although they said someone would fix it, no one came. There weren’t even tissues in the bathroom. The staff were polite on the surface but unhelpful when it mattered. Parking was another hassle. The hotel has only about six or seven spaces, so you have to pay for public parking. Leave during the day and you may have trouble finding a space when you return.

The suite was spacious and in a prime spot, with friendly staff and restaurants within walking distance. It’s also close to the Presten hike. The AC didn’t seem to work during our stay, and only the front row of parking is free. Otherwise, parking costs money until 11 pm. A picky detail, but the towel hooks are badly placed, away from the shower, and there’s nowhere to hang a hand towel. The suite also has no TV.

We had a perfect stay at Villa Bryggekanten. Emma at the front desk was especially welcoming and helpful, and the other staff we met were just as lovely. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the spot right on the water makes it easy to walk everywhere. I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting, and I’m already looking forward to coming back.
