The cabins were finished in 2020, and their huge panoramic windows frame some of the best ocean views I've seen in Norway. Our short stay in the Trollvogga cabin left us stunned. The private balconies, thoughtful layout, and clean, modern, minimal interiors all let the landscape take center stage. The kitchen was equipped with most, if not all, the utensils and amenities we needed. Even the lighting and color choices felt carefully considered. The host owns the property and runs the family business. They shared the story behind the project, including where the inspiration came from and the immense challenges involved in getting it built. They also told us special permission and paperwork from the Norwegian Government were needed to build so close to the sea, which makes the experience at Runde Panorama feel unique. Breakfast is served next door at the family's older Christineborg Gjesthus, where there's a terrace right by the sea. During our 12-day hiking road trip through Vestland, nowhere else we booked came close to the impact this place had on us.
We stayed in the Blått Hav cabin with two couples, and it was just the right amount of space. The views were fantastic. We loved our time there and only wished we could have stayed longer on our trip to Norway!
Wow!
The Osten Pilot cabin has everything you need for a peaceful, comfortable stay: a stressless armchair, good appliances, and lovely bedding. The ocean view is incredible, and the cabin's a wonderful spot to unwind in quiet surroundings. It's also just a stone's throw from the start of the island hikes. We were too late in the season for puffins, unfortunately, but did see other species. An extraordinary place!
The rocky landscape around the cabins feels like a fairyland for adults and children alike. There are several tidal pools where you can get a close look at wildlife, plus cliffs to climb, birds to watch, and sometimes otters to spot. There are also some nice places to visit and things to do in the area. I've stayed at Runde Panorama four times with my family, whose children were 5-9, three times between September and February and once in August. I can recommend it in any season. The cabin views are magical in sunshine or storms. I might like the stormy weather best 😊.
