The restaurant is what saved our stay, and it’s the main reason I gave the place this rating. We had some great food, a few examples are in the photos. Well done, restaurant team. The rest of the service left me feeling unwelcome, which is rare for me since I stay in hotels quite often. In my view, staff across reception, housekeeping, maintenance and the bar didn’t seem to understand their roles in providing service.

The staff were polite and nice, and the food was good. My travel companion is vegan, and the chef made him a good vegan meal that wasn’t on the menu. The rooms are on the small side, though, and I found the place a little pricey for what you get.

Breakfast was unbelievable, with such a big selection that we just kept eating :D The hotel is fairly small, but it feels modern and has plenty of charm, colour and lovely views. The rooms were delicate, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. Two thumbs up, highly recommendable!

If you’re travelling through Kautokeino, this is a must-visit. The staff were amazing, and the restaurant had good food.

There are guided tours with snowmobiles or ATVs for rent, depending on the season, and bicycles are available to rent on site. In summer, the rooms can get quite hot. Opening the windows for air is mostly a bad idea because of the swarming insects and broken insect screens. Breakfast had fewer options overall than at other Thon hotels, though that may have been because of the pandemic. Every now and then there was a special dish. I’d love to see a hot vegetable dish and some sweet choices like pancakes, waffles or cake added.
