The view is fantastic from every room, and the staff are very service minded and do their best to make guests comfortable. We had a nice stay, with a clean, comfortable room that had been recently renovated. The hotel also has tasty local ciders, a cosy lobby and bar, pleasant outdoor balconies and a patio, and a generous breakfast with some good options. There were some downsides. The room got incredibly warm on a hot day, almost like a sauna even with the windows open, and there were no fans. Our bathroom hadn’t been renovated, the tub was slippery, and the shower curtain needed replacing. I also couldn’t add my BW membership to the reservation at reception because we booked through a third party. That hasn’t been an issue for me at other BW hotels. I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant.

The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and the hotel was clean and nice. It does feel a bit old, though. I think it could be modernized and made better, but it’s still a lovely place.

The superior room was fine, and the staff were friendly. I think they’re doing their best with what they have. My fjord view was about 90% blocked by trees, though, but welcome to Norway. I’d booked because I wanted fresh, authentic Norwegian food. The website describes seafood from the fjords, steaks, and desserts made with fresh local ingredients. But the only main dishes were pizza, a hamburger, trout, and beef that was the worst quality I’ve had in a long time. The flavors were good, but the ingredients and quality made the meal nowhere near worth the price.

The updated rooms were very nice, and the bathtub was a lovely extra. Breakfast was amazing, and the location works well for lots of hiking spots. Great staff too, especially Martin, Joao, and everyone else.

A handy place for a short stay before a hike nearby. It’s right by the road, but pleasant enough, with friendly staff and a nice restaurant.
