The pool was a nice bonus, and it’s easy to get to the family fun park. There’s lovely scenery too, and the place is well run. We had a good stop for a young family, though graffiti on the beds and some missing essentials could have been sorted. A nice option for camping or staying in a cabin with family.

The location is great, with amazing views and a hiking trail to the national park starting nearby. There’s also lots of play space, so it seems best suited to families with children. I had a nice stay overall, but if you want somewhere quiet without many kids, I’d choose another place. I stayed one night in a tent, the cheapest option for a small tent, and paid over 400 NOK. My spot was next to the road, so it was loud in the evening. The facilities were clean, with showers available without a time limit, a kitchen with an oven and dishwasher, and a big barbecue area. The outdoor pool was great too, open until 9 pm and heated to 30°, so you can swim even when it’s cold. I’d recommend it for the right kind of stay.

It felt pretty commercial and was full of kids, which was the only small downside. The tent pitch cost over 400 NOK, a bit pricey, but the facilities were clean. Showers had hot water and no time limit, the kitchen had a dishwasher, and the heated pool really added to our stay.

I loved the nature and the surrounding area. The place sits right beside a river where it meets the fjord. I’d stopped nearby to charge my electric car and didn’t stay here, but I did enjoy the dinner buffet. It was reasonably priced, around 350 NOK per person, with decent options.

We spent one night at Mikkelparken Ferietun in our camper van while hiking in Norway. The facilities were excellent, and it was a great place to stay. The town was very nice too.
