The beach is very close, and the staff were friendly. The kitchen worked fine, though it was basic. We expected more for the price: the bedroom was tiny, with the bed taking up nearly all the space, and the stairs upstairs were so steep that they felt unsafe, especially at night. I wouldn't consider this suitable for young children. A strong fishy odor filled the apartment during our two nights, worst upstairs around the kitchen and living room. Maybe the previous guests had cooked fish and the place hadn't been aired out enough. We kept the windows open, and it was better by the time we left, but the smell still made it hard to enjoy staying there. I'm not sure what the owner or cleaners could have done, though perhaps they could have tried something to get rid of the odor.

I felt awful there. The man I spoke with, who I think was the owner, treated me horribly and was rude. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

The room was spacious, clean, and looked out over the dunes. Andre and the other staff made me feel at home as soon as I arrived. The beach is only a five-minute walk from Boretunet beach hostel, and there's a supermarket about five minutes away by car. I stayed a couple of nights and really enjoyed it. Five stars, and I'll come back.

The hostel is comfortable and has modern equipment, though the showers, toilets, and kitchen are shared. You need to leave your shoes by the main door, so bring slippers. The location is nice, even with the strong smell from the cows.

The food was adequate and the staff were nice, but the beer and wine were overpriced. The instructors did a good job with the beach trip for a surfing introduction.
