Dinner and breakfast were both good, and the staff were very helpful. The building is old, though, and the room had an oddly shaped layout with a rather strange, narrow entrance. My heater wasn't working properly while it was below -10C outside. They brought an extra heater when I asked, but the room still felt a bit cold. Hot water also took almost three minutes to arrive, apparently because many rooms share one water heater. With the water otherwise close to 0C, even washing my hands for a minute was painful.
8/10
Breakfast was fabulous, and the staff were friendly. We had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel, which is in a great location.
10/10
Breakfast was a real highlight: everything was fresh, high quality, and replenished right away, with plenty of choices. I enjoyed it each morning. The staff were welcoming, very helpful, and a pleasure to talk to. My room was spotless and the bed was larger than I expected, a nice surprise. Best Western Plus Gyldenlove Hotell is right by the train station and close to town, so the location worked perfectly. I’ll definitely stay again when I’m next in Kongsberg.
10/10
The portions were generous and there were lots of food choices. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were tidy and clean. I’d recommend staying here.
8/10
The location is a real advantage, close to the bus and train station, and they offer a morning shuttle that I didn’t find at the other hotels. Food is always fresh and tasty, though the menu is small; there are plenty of nearby places to eat. It’s a very nice hotel, but it feels a little behind the others in Kongsberg, and the rooms could use some updating.
