Comfort Hotel Fosna

It's 3 a.m. and I'm writing this instead of sleeping. For the second night running, there is loud music and drunk, aggressive people outside the window, shouting and howling. I've seen people fighting and passing out right in front of me. This was my first day in Norway, and I never expected to see this here. Yesterday it went on until 2 a.m. or later, and tonight there's no telling when it will end. We paid 100 euros a night for two nights with my girlfriend, and were put in a room above what I'd call a local dive for pathology. Basic sleep should come with a hotel room at this price. I reported the noise to reception several times, starting at 10 p.m. The woman, whose name I don't remember, showed no interest at first. Only after I pressed her about the price did she look for another room. She said the only option was in another building, but because of my poor health I wouldn't go out into the cold in the middle of the night. When I went back, frustrated, they suddenly found a room in the same building. It was no better, with the same loud music and local pathology outside. Later, when I returned to reception, she wouldn't help any further. At 2:30 AM I asked her to call the police about the curfew being broken, but she refused, as she did when I asked her to call the property manager. The problem was never fixed and no one seemed to try. In my opinion, this treatment was likely due to racism and deliberate. I'm not surprised by the low ratings. This place isn't even suitable as a homeless shelter. All I can do is inform booking.com and wait until 8 a.m. for the manager to call so I can ask for a refund.

For 150 euros, I expected more than a small single room. The bathroom was basic, and although I don't mind reusing a towel over a couple of nights, getting an extra one seemed to be a problem. Breakfast was good, and the front desk was friendly, though service in other ways was a bit lacking. The location is central, but it still felt overpriced.

The breakfast was very good, and the staff were always helpful. The room was clean and had what we needed. Nothing flashy or especially new, just a good room.

We were moved here from Scandic Hotel because they said they “had a situation.” The welcome was good, and the hotel had everything we needed. Our room overlooked the port. Breakfast was nice, and the price felt fair for the service. Thanks for having us!
