Tor Edvin made us feel very welcome during our three-night winter stay at Villa Lofoten. My fiancée and I loved the charming, cozy villa, especially with its several fireplaces, and the ocean and mountain views were spectacular. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights right from the house. We’d absolutely come back in winter, and would love to visit in summer too, maybe staying at one of the other houses.

Peaceful surroundings, lovely people, beautiful luxury houses, and delicious food. What a wonderful experience. Many thanks to Aaslaug and Tor. We’ll be back!

The homemade breakfast treats were delicious and made it easy to grab something before heading out for the day. Our cabin was quiet, cozy, and very clean, with lovely attention to detail. The accommodation and surrounding scenery were beautiful, and our host was friendly and knowledgeable. I’d absolutely recommend staying here to explore Lofoten, especially the northern part of the islands.

Villa Lofoten’s summer restaurant deserves at least five stars. The food was fantastic, local, lovingly prepared, and closely connected to local traditions and culture. The wine pairing was excellent too, thanks to a great sommelier. The restaurant is beside the main house in a building that combines an old barn feel, with its corrugated ceiling, and an art gallery look, with polished concrete floors and huge windows. The ocean, fields, and mountains make for spectacular views. It only opens on certain days in summer, so check Villa Lofoten’s Facebook page.

Aaslaug is such a warm, friendly host. She shared stories about this special place and suggested spots for us to explore. Villa Lofoten feels like home away from home, with real soul. It’s quiet, beautifully decorated, and a lovely base for discovering the island, or simply switching off. There’s a small beach, mountains to one side, and the sea right in front. A gem, highly recommended.
