Never again. The room was noisy, with a party across the street and drunks yelling. The bathroom hadn't been renovated and had a stained bathtub. Restaurant service was bad and incompetent, and the food was overpriced and not what the menu described, supposedly because the cook had too many orders.

The restaurant wasn't open, despite being advertised as open Sundays from 4 PM to midnight. We were stuck on the road to the North Cape and stopped here, so I won't say much about the basic rooms. They were unremarkable, but at least clean. The receptionist, Rebecca, gave us the worst welcome we've ever had. She was rude and unpleasant, and even got aggressive when we kindly pointed out that Crozes-Hermitage wine was French, not Italian. Apparently her boss had told her otherwise, and she didn't take our good-natured comment well. I strongly advise against staying here.

At Verdde Mat & Vinhus, the food was the standout: I ordered King crab bisque and the "Rein Rossini", and both were delicious and beautifully presented. I've eaten at several Michelin restaurants around the world, and this food was definitely at star level. Every detail felt carefully considered and delicate. The young waiter from Denmark welcomed me and found me a seat. He brought delicious bread with olive oil right away, and was very observant and friendly. We got along really well. I hope more people discover this hidden gem in Finnmark :)

Our team of 10+ stayed at the Verdde Hotel in Lakselv for a week. The hotel was well kept and the rooms were nice, but the people are what made the stay. Everyone in check-in, housekeeping, the restaurant and the bar was very nice and accommodating, especially with a group our size. I'd highly recommend the Verdde Hotel if you find yourself in Lakselv.

The room was old and had a stinky carpeted floor. Breakfast was the only decent part of this hotel. Avoid it.
