The food is incredible, which makes sense since this is part of the Under family. The hotel is really nice, and the setting in Norway is stunning. I’d recommend it if you’re visiting Under or exploring the area.

At checkout, they just said goodbye. No polite send-off or even a question about whether everything had been okay. The room situation was frustrating from the start: our double room had only been set up for one person, so I went back to reception, where nobody seemed to care. The hotel was almost empty, yet we were placed far away, with no view and right beside another occupied room. We ended up disturbing each other for no reason. I asked for my complaint to be passed to the head of reception, but it clearly wasn’t. The management seems completely incompetent, and the reception staff didn’t know how to deal with complaints. I can’t recommend this hotel. There’s a lot that needs serious improvement.

So quiet, with a lovely view of the sea. The staff were lovely too. I stayed here for Under and enjoyed the Nordic charm.

The location is good, but this hotel costs too much for what you get. We stayed five nights, and the rooms and bathroom were small. Our room had a view, though on the third night the tall ships arrived. We had to put up with drunk people and engine noise day and night, plus a big tent just below our room. It didn’t feel like a summer spa stay at all. There weren’t enough outdoor seats, and it wasn’t clear who was allowed to use them. We tried some sun loungers by our room, but they were soon taken away. The kitchen was just okay, and breakfast was chaotic: the buffet was partly empty, there weren’t enough staff to refill it or clear tables. On our third day, the hotel’s smaller rugs had all been cleaned and hung outside our room to dry. It felt a bit like living in the middle of renovations :-). The rooms also get very hot. There’s no A/C, and no fans available.
