Thon Hotel Snø

The breakfast was the highlight for us, with a huge range of delicious choices, easily one of the best buffets I’ve had. Our room was great too, with comfortable beds and a large bathroom. We stayed while visiting Oslo, and it was only 15-20 minutes by train, followed by a 15-minute walk up the hill. We had an amazing stay and would definitely come back.

I wasn’t staying at Thon Hotel Snø, but after a disappointing company lunch I dropped in hoping for coffee and maybe cake. The restaurant was on a break, and although the lobby had free coffee, I was really after a cappuccino. I asked a tall, handsome gentleman, who I assumed worked at the hotel, when the restaurant would reopen. He said 4:30pm, but I had to leave at 4. Then he smiled and offered to get me a cappuccino on the house. He also checked with the chef, who was about to start a meeting. The chef went straight to the kitchen and made me dessert, and a waitress served it so warmly. I was touched by how everyone made me feel welcome even though I wasn’t a guest. Their hospitality made my day, and it’s the sort of experience that stays with you. A big thank you to everyone at Thon Hotel Snø, including the kind gentleman, the thoughtful chef, and the lovely waitress. ❤️ When I next visit Oslo, this is definitely where I’ll choose to stay. The world would be a much better place if more people were as wonderful as this team.

I’ve had a great stay here without a car. The prices are competitive, the rooms are stylish and cozy, and breakfast is amazing. Public transportation gets you to Oslo in about 25 minutes, with a 10-minute walk to the station and a 15-minute train ride. There might be some parking issues, though.

We booked online from the airport on the day we arrived in Oslo and got a very decent price for two adults and two teenagers. After a long trip, we were really happy with the last-minute booking. We took a taxi straight to the hotel, where the front desk staff were friendly and knowledgeable. There’s tons of fun right in the hotel, plus a restaurant and bar. The room is a bit tight but laid out well, very clean and quiet. There was plenty of room for our luggage, and the beds were clean and comfortable. The hot shower was great, with both an adjustable shower head and a rain shower head, so couples of different heights can rejoice! The huge included breakfast buffet was amazing, with so much fresh, varied food. Vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian and gluten-free choices were plentiful. Service was impeccable: food was replaced quickly, things were constantly cleaned, and hot dishes and requests were taken care of promptly. The multilingual staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. I think breakfast alone is worth staying the night for.
