Scandic Svolvaer

The breakfast was amazing, and the customer service was great. Our room was good and the location worked well, though the building is older. The door handle was broken when we arrived, but they repaired it straight away. The hallways smelled a little funny, lol.

The staff were generally friendly, and the internet stayed stable. The shower worked well too. Breakfast was fine but nothing memorable. One morning I was waiting for hot water, and a staff member saw me but carried on slowly restocking cups without acknowledging me. It didn’t feel rude, just indifferent. For €450 over two nights, I expected more. The rooms are extremely small and there’s no good way to air them out, and parking isn’t included at that price. The beds looked hastily made and below hotel standards. I wanted comfortable basics and more attention to detail, especially a properly made bed. There’s definitely room for improvement.

It’s easy to get to the ferry, with places to eat nearby and a view of the majestic Floya. A handy base for exploring Svolvaer. The staff are so friendly and know their stuff, and they really try to make you feel at home. Breakfast was delicious and had a huge selection. From a balcony room, the views were peaceful and impressive, whether watching sunrise or seeing the moonlit night.

The breakfast buffet was very good, and they provided breakfast bags for the days we had to leave early. The hotel is in a great spot, and the view is really nice if you get a room on the right side. A special thanks to Aurora on the afternoon and evening reception shift. She made us feel welcome right away and was always a friendly face to return to after dinner. I’d definitely stay here again.
