Thon Hotel Måløy

The rooms were clean and modern, and the coffee was very good. Breakfast was especially good, too. The ferry harbor is just a two-minute walk away, and everything else was fine.

The staff were really nice, even though the hotel itself feels a bit run down. I couldn't get the AC to work, and found it difficult to operate. The rooms are big. Maps shows the wrong location, but the hotel is just down the street and easy enough to spot with “Hotel” written in large letters outside. There's a parking spot a little north of the hotel where you can park free for 24 hours, or pay 250 NOK per day for long-term parking. As far as I know, there aren't any large parking areas by the hotel. You can also park on the street if you find a spot.

The outside looks tired and dated, and could use a good coat of paint, so the appearance doesn't do the hotel justice. Inside, though, it was very comfortable.

Ida at reception was lovely and helped us with everything we needed. Since we had to leave early the next morning, she had breakfast packed in a cute bag, along with a really nice note wishing us a good trip. It made our day! The three of us all enjoyed breakfast, including the sandwich without cheese. Thank you so much, Ida, it was lovely meeting you, and best wishes from all three of us. MC. We stayed just one night, and the hotel met our expectations and needs. We'll always remember Måløy with a smile.
