That fish and chips is unbelievably good. The fish was fresh and flaky, with crisp batter, and the chips and rémoulade went perfectly with it. They use locally sourced loins from Gunnar Klo, one of Øksnes' oldest fisheries, established in 1909. The staff were friendly and accommodating too.

The beds were comfortable, the location was good, and service seemed fine. The rooms are clean and simple. A couple of odd details, though: the toilet felt short on space, and the wall-mounted TVs seemed strange.

I was ready to pay as soon as I realized I’d made a mistake. I’d genuinely thought the booking agency had already charged me, but I replied promptly, apologized, and offered several ways to settle it, including card details and a bank transfer. I stayed one night, and the way staff dealt with this simple payment error made the experience disappointing. Even before my messages had been properly read, the response was hostile and included threats to involve the police. It took repeated attempts before the payment was processed, despite my willingness to pay all along. At one point I had to copy and paste the emails into the booking.com app because she was trying to mislead the investigation. I understand that mistakes happen, but the aggressive tone and lack of professionalism made a minor problem needlessly stressful. I would have expected a more respectful, understanding response when I was clearly cooperating.

The rooms are simple, with two beds, and breakfast was good, including waffles and ice tea. My only complaint is that the bathroom was a bit awkward, with little room for toiletries.
