Thon Hotel Narvik

I had a terrible experience. The counter staff were rude and ill-mannered, and the concierge staff were discourteous and extremely rough and inappropriate. The food was poor, and the coffee machine wasn’t working. Very disappointing.

We’ll be filing complaints with Booking, the hotel’s head office, and the consumer protection agency. The hotel refused to resolve the problem. When booking, we paid the hotel a parking fee for the lot right beside it, which made it seem like hotel property and as though there were no other options. But the lot is managed by an outside company, OnePark. They later sent us a huge fine for parking there, and charged us for each time we entered the hotel parking spot we’d already paid the hotel to use. The hotel kept the parking money, didn’t give our details to the company managing the lot, and didn’t warn us. We ended up paying the external company multiple times for the same spot near the hotel. Scammers.

Breakfast was super good, and they refilled the food ASAP. The dining room felt calm and relaxed. The hotel is huge, and my room was so far from the main door that there was no other way out. There’s a ski resort right across from it, and a big Kiwi Mart just one minute away.

The room was big, comfortable, and clean. The staff were kind, helpful, and friendly, and let us have breakfast early so we could catch a ferry. Breakfast was nicely presented, with lots of variety and well-cooked food. The only issue was how many dogs were staying at the hotel, and one kept barking.
