The views and camping space looked lovely when I arrived, but signs said “no camping.” I called the number on the website and was told the site was closed for the year. I tried to visit on 7/6/25, and both the website and Google Maps had made it look open, so I'm posting this as a heads-up for anyone planning to stay this summer.

It's so great to be back at this lovely camping place. The host was full of hospitality. After a short, friendly chat, he brought me folders about the nearby mountains and mentioned a higher hill near Saukampen with more snow. I changed my plans and headed to Heidalsmuen instead! Looking forward to waking up and seeing the beautiful area around Skåbu Hytter og Camping 😍

The view is exceptional, and the facilities are really nice. The owners were friendly and welcoming, making this our best camping experience in Norway. Definitely worth going a little out of the way for.

A peaceful campground with a fantastic view, and there was always enough room for our tent. The owners are very friendly and seem to take real pleasure in making guests comfortable.
