The waitress was so friendly, and the prices were fair. After our hike, we were relieved to find the restaurant open for dinner. We enjoyed two lovely meals, fish and chips and salmon.

The history of Nyksund seems to live in this warm, cosy place, with an interior that breathes history. It’s on the “other” side of the bay, down some narrow steps by the sea. We went to the cafeteria for coffee and dessert, though you can also get an affordable meal. One of the strangest restaurants you’ll visit, in the best way. Great service, and warmly recommended. A must-see in Nyksund!

Ssemjon was an excellent host and went out of his way to help. I loved the remote beauty here and in the surrounding area. I was delighted to get an upgrade to a very comfortable, cosy apartment. The restaurant had delicious food and plenty of choice, with outstanding seafood. I’d love to come back.

The rooms are simple, but I guarantee you’ll get the best sleep in Norway here. The place feels so Norwegian, idyllic and full of inspiration, it made us dream of living in Norway. We stayed two nights, and both felt magical. Owner Ssemjon was extremely nice and even waited for our late arrival.

The seagulls’ songs can make it hard to fall asleep, yes. Still, it’s such a lovely, nostalgic place that the authentic experience makes up for it. Old, but VERY charming.
