The beds and showers were fine, and I appreciated having a shoe rack and coat hangers. But the location didn’t suit me. The hostel occupies two separate flats in an apartment block among local people’s homes. Next door, a makeshift mosque sings and prays until 22:00. They’ve put code locks on all the doors, which is good, but the front door doesn’t close properly. Even though it cost more, I didn’t see any advantages over Anker apartments.

It’s a new, clean hostel with comfortable beds, about a 15-minute walk from Oslo Central. The owners are keen to help and hear how they can improve the place. Tea and coffee are available all day, and the Wi-Fi is solid, though mine dropped out briefly a couple of times. Laundry is available on site for 50 kr. The address is on the third floor, so it’s a little hard to find. Some signs would make it much easier. It’s priced just a little below the popular, established options, so trying this new spot seems like a no-brainer.

The administration is super nice, but the place is really uncomfortable. I stayed on the fifth floor, where there were three toilets, but only two could be locked and those were very small. The showers are almost transparent, right in front, and have only a rope to keep them closed. There’s nowhere to put your clothes or get dressed.

Good location, clean, and a good mf place. One dislike, and it has nothing to do with the hostel or staff: I hate the sound of plastic bags. Omg, that noise! If you’re staying in a hostel, DO NOT BRING PLASTIC BAGS! /A small and depressed little man from sweden
