The building dates from 1898, and its unusual furniture mix gives it a certain charm. We left fond of the place despite arriving disappointed. The room felt cozy but worn: the bathroom ceiling was broken with beams showing, and the two badly arranged mattresses and huge pillows somehow made for a surprisingly comfortable bed. The sheets were very wrinkled, and the towels were stiff.

I booked more than a month ahead, then the hotel canceled the day before I was due to arrive, saying they were overbooked. They offered no alternative, which is unacceptable. Avoid it, there's no certainty you'll have a bed even with a reservation.
