The Thief

The team made the whole place feel special, with professionalism at every turn. We had a brilliant weekend for my husband's birthday. Our room, #728, was quiet, with a wonderfully comfortable bed and a lovely view. Breakfast was legendary, and the bar was imaginative, with album covers on the walls and vinyl LPs you could play. The spa was gorgeous, with a sumptuous pool, steam room and sauna. The lighting throughout gave the hotel a calm, tranquil feel.

The bathroom was lovely, though the bed was really hard. The hotel has a luxurious feel, the staff were helpful and service-minded, and breakfast was exceptional, with both à la carte and buffet included. The room didn’t feel worth the price, so we won’t stay again, but it was fun to try for one night.

The spa at The Thief was incredible after a long-haul flight and the frigid weather. The staff showed us the pool, sauna, steam room and other amenities, and were helpful and accommodating. We felt pampered, got a good rest, and they even packed breakfast boxes for us to take to the airport. We didn’t have time to explore nearby, and in hindsight might have chosen an airport hotel, since the city center was a distance away. The restaurant menu was very limited, and the food was just so-so. Still, I’d stay again. It must be lovely to explore the area in summer.

The food was a highlight, from breakfast through dinner, fresh, inventive and delicious. The rooms were quiet and thoughtfully designed, with comfort, style and all the modern amenities I could ask for. The design made it feel a bit like staying in a high-end art gallery. What I’ll remember most is the staff. A receptionist I’d chatted with briefly gave me a complimentary “booty bag” of thoughtful goodies because she said I was sweet. It really touched me and felt like a lovely example of the hotel’s personal, generous approach. Service elsewhere was smooth too, from check-in and housekeeping to help from the concierge, all handled graciously and professionally. From arrival through checkout, my stay at The Thief Hotel was brilliant. It’s more than a place to sleep, with genuine hospitality and refined luxury. A shining boutique hotel experience. I’d highly recommend it to anyone wanting luxury, great service and to feel valued.
