The buffet was a highlight, with generous smoked salmon platters, hot dishes in colorful cast-iron pots, and lovely presentation. I also appreciated the Nespresso machine and selection of capsules in the room. Thon Hotel Rosenkrantz Oslo was the standout place I stayed on my Scandinavian trip. I went solo in October 2025, and my room had a gold geometric headboard, bright botanical bedspread, velvet armchairs in jewel tones and patterned wallpaper. The spacious bathroom had both a soaking tub and walk-in shower, finished in black mosaic tile. The staff were warm and efficient, and shared useful local tips. Just beside Stortinget and Karl Johan, it made walking around easy. My room faced a quiet side street, so nights were peaceful. A great choice if you like design and attentive service.

The breakfast buffet was amazing, with a huge choice of hot and cold food. The room was spotless and a decent size for the price, with a good bed and shower. There weren't many places to put clothes, just a couple of small shelves and one larger one that's very high, but you can't have everything. Having an iron and kettle was handy. If street noise bothers you, I'd ask for a courtyard-facing room. Nearby bars can get loud, though the windows are well glazed and it didn't bother us.

It's a modern, clean and comfortable hotel, and the staff are exceptionally friendly. Breakfast was excellent, and the location makes it easy to explore Oslo on foot. It does get a bit busy sometimes, but I had a great stay.

The service was fantastic, and I could be right in the middle of things while still enjoying a quiet atmosphere. It's a perfect location. I'll stay here again when I'm back in Oslo. It felt like home away from home.

The breakfast buffet really lived up to the praise. I especially liked being able to steep my own blend of loose-leaf tea, something I haven't had the chance to do before. The hotel has a lounge on the 8th floor if you want a change of scene, and the tram stops just steps from the entrance. It's a modern, centrally located place with a restaurant. Our room was thoughtfully designed and restful, and the windows kept out the sound very well. There's no air conditioning, which is normal here.
