Topcamp Bogstad - Oslo

There are two campervan campsites in Oslo, but the one at Ekeberg appears to close for maintenance around 15 September 2025. That leaves this as the only open option for campervans. A Kiwi supermarket just outside makes it easy to pick up groceries and supplies. The bus ride to central Oslo takes about 30 minutes. Compared with Ekeberg, this campsite seems newer and better maintained.

We booked five nights and had to cancel through no fault of our own. None of our 3200 krona was refunded. An absolute rip-off.

The camp felt a bit too crowded and large for our taste, though the facilities were modern, clean, and staffed by friendly people. A trail to Bogstad lake starts right by the camp, and we went for a morning swim there. It's handy for visiting Oslo, with a direct drive to the Folk museum, which I highly recommend.

The campsite is very pricey, and during our two-night stay the facilities were consistently dirty. We saw a bathroom that wasn't a mess only once. The central building is modern, while the one at the back is older. Its age wouldn't bother me, but there's mold there, unpleasant for guests and, I would think, a health hazard for the cleaning crew. The buildings simply weren't cleaned often enough. Tent pitches are in the rear section, closest to the older facility block. To reach the bathrooms, you have to walk up a steep slope or take a detour. Adding steps between the campsite sections would be a considerate fix. It's a minor inconvenience, but small details like this are handled well at many Norwegian campsites, and not here.
