We booked Room 3 with a balcony a month and a half ahead and paid on time. I checked specifically because the balcony mattered to me, and the hotel confirmed the room. But when we arrived, the key box code led us to a room that was already occupied, with other guests’ belongings inside. A neighbor saw what happened. The hotel had switched our room at the last minute without telling us, putting us in a lower-category, cold ground-floor room without a balcony. The room was freezing for the two nights we stayed. The old double window wouldn’t shut properly, and one section had no glass at all. I stuffed a blanket into it so my son and I could sleep without freezing. When I contacted the administrator, I was told to take it up with Booking because it wasn’t their problem. The owner only showed up around 10 PM on our last evening and offered to move us, but with an early departure the next morning, packing everything up then made no sense. The building is old and has a constant sewage smell, and we felt the staff showed no respect for guests. They promised compensation of 1.5 nights, but more than two weeks later I still hadn’t received a euro. When I followed up, the owner kept saying they were busy, including “busy at the bank.” It’s clear to me they don’t intend to return the money. I’ve decided to leave it with them since they seem to need it more than I do, but this place was awful and people should think twice before booking. I’ll post this review and photos on major travel sites so others can see what they might face. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this hotel.

We regret booking this place. The beds were thin and lumpy, like cardboard, and left us aching after every uncomfortable night. There was also a stale, foul smell throughout the building that hit as soon as we walked in and never let up. The place seemed neglected and poorly maintained, nowhere near the quality described in the listing. For the price, it just wasn’t worth it.

For what we paid, we expected a more comfortable, better-kept place. The beds made it really hard to get a decent night’s sleep, and there was an unpleasant smell throughout the building from the moment we arrived. We were disappointed and wouldn’t stay again.

The villa has such a magical, homey feel, even with other guests sharing the space. It made my time in Oslo feel special, and I had a beautiful stay. I can’t wait to return. Thank you again for everything 🖤 A year ago, a friend and I arrived in Oslo only to find that our bnb had scammed us and left us without anywhere to stay. We found the villa while looking for a bed and fell in love with it, but could only book one night, so we were meant to leave the next day. As we were heading out, we met the owner, Jørn, and told him what had happened and that we still needed somewhere to stay. He was incredibly kind. He let us keep our room for the rest of our stay, made us feel at home, and even tried to help us get our money back from the other place.
