The hosts make the stay feel special. They’re welcoming and helpful, cook great food, and make you feel at home. There’s a cosy shared room where you can have coffee and play board games by the fire. We recommend På Tur i Villmarka. The dining room looks out over a stunning valley, and the rooms are clean and have what you need. We also loved being able to bring our dog into both the room and common room. Lillehammer city is nearby, famous for hosting the 1994 Winter Olympics, and there are great ski slopes close by. We hope to return in summer and see more of the area.

A sudden downpour left me completely soaked, and I needed somewhere to warm up. I came across this lovely guesthouse, where the owners were very friendly and gave me time to get my strength back. The coffee was great too. I’ll stay there next time!

The rooms were fine and breakfast had plenty to choose from. The free Wi-Fi was a nice touch, although really slow. The view alone is worth a visit. 4/5.
