The breakfast was generous and really good quality, enough for all eight of us. We’d love to return. The place itself is beautiful and original, with buildings several hundred years old cared for and used as the hotel. Morten, the owner, is also a gifted photographer. We were lucky to see some of his award-winning work in an exhibition on the grounds, and I hadn’t realized he’d taken all the photos. Fantastic.

The hosts were incredibly supportive and welcoming, and dinners were good without costing much. Trollheimen is amazing for hiking. The place has a rustic, historical feel, with old cozy houses that have been refurbished. Don’t come expecting anything chic or contemporary or modern amenities, but do expect genuine hospitality and authenticity.

The staff were the best, so helpful, and the food was amazing. We were completely satisfied, and would recommend this hotel 100%. It has a warm atmosphere and a beautiful view.

A peaceful hidden gem with a lovely traditional Norwegian atmosphere. The ambience is good, and breakfast was nice.

There’s plenty to see around the hotel grounds and nearby. Ask to be shown to Kulpanj, the awesome local swimming spot. The food was nice and tasty, too. Saga Trollheimen is made up of antique houses from the 18th and 19th centuries, finely restored, and it’s very comfortable, with modern conveniences including well-equipped bathrooms. It feels authentic. I saw some complaints about the simple accommodation, but if you want Versace tiles in your bathroom, I’d suggest staying in a big city.
