The hostess Veslemøy gave us great service, and the food was super good. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the place has real charm and a lovely atmosphere. It’s also a beautiful spot for hiking any time of year, especially near Mesna Icelandic horse center. We’ll be back.

Veslemøy looked after us wonderfully, from before we arrived right through our stay. We loved this charming farm guesthouse and its central location, close to Sjusjøen and Ljøsheim. Book the sauna if you can, and take a ride on one of the Icelandic horses. I’m glad places like this still exist.

Mesnabakken is under 20 minutes from Sjusjøen, home to one of the world’s best cross-country skiing facilities. The guesthouse itself is lovely, set in a quiet rural area, and we received a friendly welcome and good service. You can also get quality breakfast, packed lunches, and dinner.

Veslemøy is a wonderful, warm host who really makes herself present for her guests. She went the extra mile throughout our stay, and we had delicious, healthy home-cooked meals. I’d recommend Mesnabakken to anyone looking for a proper chance to relax over home-cooked gourmet food.
