The restaurant was closed, there was no room cleaning, and breakfast came as vouchers for a nearby bakery. That might be fine in the low season, but not when it's high season and they're charging a high room rate.

We loved being able to walk from our suite into town and enjoy the harbour, and the fast internet made catching up on work easy. The suite was charmingly furnished and gave us room to spread out after a string of cramped hotel rooms. Adam helped us check in and took care of what we needed, which made the stay feel relaxed. Breakfast from the Det Lille Hotel was a treat each morning. After two weeks on the road, my husband and I both felt our time at the Det Lille Hotel was the best part of the trip. We also recommend booking the Risør havbad sauna for its spectacular view.

We had a relaxing stay in this small town, with the city center giving it a lovely romantic setting. The hotel feels like a step back in time, with beautiful interiors and staff who were keen to help. Our suite was fully equipped, including for meetings, and came with a robe. The bed was comfortable too. Breakfast was lovely, with homemade fresh bread, juice, and fruit.
