We stumbled across Garvikstrondi camping while looking for somewhere to sleep on our road trip through telemark. It turned out to be a great spot for families, between Bø and Seljord. The staff were friendly and helped us get checked in. There’s plenty for kids and adults to do, including minigolf, canoeing, the beach, a playground, fishing, and nearby hikes. We’d happily recommend it.

We stopped here on the drive to Oslo Airport, arriving very late and leaving early. The lodge was clean and cozy, with a lovely view. The other guests nearby seemed to be having a quiet, peaceful stay.

There’s lots of room for children, and the place was clean with all the services we needed. We also loved the lake view. It’s one of the most peaceful places we’ve stayed so far.

The cabins are simple but nice, and 500kr for a four-bed cabin in high season seems fair. The staff were friendly and helpful too.
