The room and bed felt like something from a school camp, with cheap, worn-out mattresses. Light came through the roof windows long before we wanted to get up. Breakfast was OK, but this isn’t a 4-star hotel.

We were traveling toward Oslo with three children and stayed in a family room. They put in an extra bed for the youngest, and the room was clean. The staff were welcoming, the service was good, and breakfast was well cooked, especially the scrambled eggs and bacon. It’s a charming hotel, and we’ll stay again. 😊 R&R

We had the room with a balcony, and in the morning I enjoyed watching the schoolchildren next door walk to school, since I’m a teacher. Breakfast downstairs was great. There’s also a library room filled with antique books. A very nice hotel.

The hotel is very nice and has great potential, but the rooms need some investment. The linoleum floors and shower cabinets look like they’re from the 90s and should be replaced. The bathroom standard is no better than an ordinary school gym, which is disappointing. With those obvious repairs made, this could be an amazing place to visit.

The hotel is a delightful, atmospheric place, with a friendly feel and stunning scenery. It’s a historic architectural gem, beautifully presented and well worth spending a night or two away from the city. Breakfast and pizzas were excellent, and there was evening musical entertainment too.
